Subcortical arterioscelerotic encephalopathy with left frontotemporal recent infarction :: case study

Non contrast multislice CT of the brain

  • Normal size and configuration of ventricular system.
  •   Exaggerated preventricular white matter hypodensity donating small vessel disease
  •    No Midline shift .
  •    An ill defined hypodense lesion in frontotemporal region exerting subtle mass effect on the adjacent structures .
  •   No intracerebral and extra-axial areas of abnormal attenuation values or recent blood density  .
  •  No focal cerebral areas of abnormal density or abnormal enhancement pattern.
  •   Preserved normal gray-white matter interface.
  •   Normal extra-axial CSF spaces & basal skull cisterns.
  •    Normal appearance of the brain stem and cerebellum .
  • Scanned para-nasal sinuses are clear .


Conclusion
@  Subcortical  arterioscelerotic encephalopathy  with left frontotemporal  recent infarction .
